Wrinkles and Fine Lines Around the Eyes and Forehead
Wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes and on the forehead are caused by the contraction of facial muscles during actions like smiling, frowning, or other facial expressions. Botox can effectively reduce these dynamic wrinkles. It contains a purified toxin derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. In safe, low doses, this toxin has been successfully used since 1982 for both medical and cosmetic purposes.
Initially, botulinum toxin was used to treat medical conditions like blepharospasm (involuntary eye muscle contractions). Later, it became popular for cosmetic treatments, including crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
For Whom is Botox Suitable?

How it works and am I suitable?
During a consultation, it will be determined whether Botox is suitable for you. Botox works by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles, causing them to relax and, in turn, softening wrinkles. Similar products, such as Dysport and Xeomin, work in the same way.
To determine if Botox is right for you, your healthcare provider will assess factors such as your skin condition, the type of wrinkles you have, your medical history, and any contraindications. If you have certain health conditions like pregnancy or neurological disorders, Botox may not be recommended.
Which Areas Can Be Treated with Botox?
Botox is primarily used for:
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
For wrinkles around the mouth and nose, fillers or other techniques, such as a facelift, are typically used instead.
How does the treatment proceed?
Botox is injected using a very fine needle. Typically, 3-10 injections are needed per area. The treatment is quick, and you can go home immediately afterward. Side effects are minimal, though a small bruise may occasionally occur. Results become visible within 3-5 days and typically last 3-4 months.
Botox for Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
For excessive sweating, Botox blocks the nerve endings to the sweat glands, stopping the production of sweat. The effect typically lasts 4-6 months. Alternatives, such as Miradry or surgical procedures, are also available, but Botox offers a less invasive solution.

Most people require just 1 zone for the frown lines between the eyebrows and the middle part of the forehead.
Zones:
- Always left and right together = 1 zone = 25 units
- Crow’s feet next to the eyes (especially visible when smiling) = 1 zone
- Frown lines between the eyebrows = 1 zone
- Forehead wrinkles (only in the center, as treating the whole forehead may cause the eyebrows to slightly drop) = half a zone
- Corners of the mouth: Inactivating muscles that pull the mouth corners down = a third of a zone
- Neck muscle bands (platysma) = 1 zone
- Some wrinkles in the upper lip (for spastic lips) = a third of a zone
For example, treating frown lines and the central part of the forehead = 1.5 zones = 160 Euro
If, after the first treatment, the results are insufficient, a second dose can be injected at half price as a “guarantee” within a month. This is quite rare.
