FUE technique

explained!

In this newsletter, we would like to tell you more about our successful techniques we use for hair transplants.

Hair transplantation can be a good solution in numerous situations….

This includes men dealing with hereditary hair loss, women experiencing hair loss due to factors such as stress or medical conditions, individuals with scalp scars from surgeries, or people with an irregular hairline.

Of course, a good donor area is essential to achieve the desired results. A hair transplant can therefore be suitable for many different people, but a consultation is crucial to determine what options are available.

Here in our clinic, we perform an average of two procedures per day, and we guarantee a personalized approach. For us, natural results and quality are paramount. Combined with a cost-effective choice, the FUE technique is our most frequently performed procedure.

What exactly is the FUE hair transplant technique?

With this technique (Follicular Unit Extraction), hair follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area (the back and sides of the head). They are carefully collected, counted, and prepared. For optimal extraction, maximum results, and smooth healing, we shave the treatment areas short.

After extraction, we use an extremely fine sapphire blade to create small channels in the balding area. The extracted follicles are then carefully transplanted into these channels. We consider the natural direction of hair growth so that the transplanted hairs will eventually grow in alignment with the rest of your hair. This process is done under local anesthesia, so apart from a few pinpricks, you won’t feel anything during the procedure.

How long does the procedure take, and what is the recovery time after FUE hair transplantation?

The duration of the procedure depends on the number of grafts we need to transplant and can range from 5 to 8 hours. We provide small breaks during the procedure if needed.

Healing and recovery take some time. During the first two weeks post-procedure, healing is most visible, with scabs remaining on the treated areas and possible redness in the skin. After this period, healing typically progresses smoothly. The transplanted hairs will start growing approximately 3 months after the procedure.

By 6 months, you will already see a significant difference, and the final result in terms of hair density can be expected around 10 months after the procedure.

A PRP treatment can be a valuable addition during the healing process. By injecting plasma rich in growth factors derived from your own blood, PRP stimulates the healing of the skin and hair after a procedure. It will shorten the recovery time and also support the growth and survival of the transplanted hair follicles.

Steps in Your FUE Hair Transplant Procedure

1. Consultation and planning

During a personal consultation, we discuss your expectations, possibilities, and the entire procedure. We also review your medical history.

2. Scheduling and file preparation Together, we find a suitable date for your procedure and complete your file.

3. One week before the procedure, you will receive an email with your final schedule and preparation instructions, such as washing your hair the day before and on the morning of the procedure.

4. After your procedure, you will receive all the information regarding aftercare, your aftercare products, medication, and appointments for your two required follow-up consultations.

5. Follow-up During the first ten days after your procedure, we closely monitor your progress and remain available for any questions or concerns until the full results are achieved.
