A STRONG BRANGELINA JAWLINE
Many patients consult with a problem of a weak jawline, when they are young, and when they get older, also saggy cheeks ( jowls ) . Very often, the bony structure is insufficient , i.e. a receding chin. Very often , there is also malocclusion, and often these patients had braces in the past, but overlooking the structure of both jaws.
Solutions are various and comprise :
- Osteotomies to reposition both upper and lower jaw( and sliding lower forward)
- However, osteotomies require a lot of efforts from the patient, and therefore , very often they opt for another procedure : sliding genioplasty or chin implants. Chin implants ( silicone, medpor , …. ) make a chin more heavy, and this is fine if this is desired by the patient. In many cases, this is not desirable, and a sliding genioplasty is performed.
